Portrait photography - encounters with people
Thanks to my camera, I meet great people and have many enriching encounters.
Thank you for your patience, your stories, your kindness, your inspiration.
A portrait is more than just a neutral depiction of a face. For me, it's the most personal and exciting discipline within photography. The focus is not on the image, but on the person I'm working with. Portrait photography gives me the opportunity to engage with a person, get to know them, and, ideally, reveal something of their personality.
Every shoot is different—bringing new dynamics, new challenges, and new stories. This is especially true for the special genre of street portraits. Honest portraits require empathy, openness, and mutual trust.
Whether outdoors in natural light, indoors by a window, or in a large-scale setting with multiple flashes – portrait photography thrives on atmosphere and togetherness. It's a collaborative process.
