ICM - Intentionally blurry
ICM stands for "Intentional Camera Movement." What was once a quality issue in the good old analog days has now become an interesting experiment—intentionally blurred. With exposure times between 0.5 and 2 seconds, the camera is deliberately moved along light lines or edge structures. The results are surprising, and it usually takes dozens of attempts to capture a perfect image.
What fascinates me about ICM photography is that it allows for a focus on the essential. Colors, shapes, and moods come to the foreground, while the specific "subject" recedes. If you like that, I recommend the images of Roxanne Bouché Overton —a master in this field.
