Architectural photography - new perspectives in everyday life

Architectural photography challenges me to pay attention to buildings in my everyday life that I would otherwise ignore. Architectural photos require a willingness to look more closely and adopt new perspectives.

 

The camera helps me perceive structures, lines, and shapes more consciously. What initially appears simple or functional suddenly unfolds its own aesthetic through light, shadow, and perspective. For me, architectural photography is about curiosity about new perspectives: an unusual diagonal line, a reflection in a window, the contrast between old and new.

 

I also enjoy photographing the shabby outskirts, away from the beautiful architectural highlights. This is where architectural photography and street photography intersect. The challenge and the appeal for me lie in making the everyday seem unusual – without completely alienating it. Architectural photography means seeing not just buildings but spaces,
